The Hive overlooks the harbour in Aberaeron and boasts some of the most stunning panoramic views of the town and harbour – this is easily one of the most picturesque spots to enjoy fresh Welsh and British fare. Here at The Hive you can enjoy a meal, a relaxed drink with friends, or even a coffee and cake in an informal enviroment, with different areas to choose from, whether it be our lounge bar, our light and airy conservatory, our open air courtyard or our cosy restaurant. Here the focus is on sourcing and serving the best food we can find and doing as little to it as possible so that you can enjoy the real flavour of great ingredients. The kitchen is run by head chef Jason Jones and his team. You will find our lunch and evening menu's under ‘food and drink’. Some delights featured on the menu are Cardigan crab risotto (the crab is caught and picked by our own fisherman Gavin Jenkins), Welsh mussels in Fino sherry and chorizo, Whole baked plaice, tartare sauce and when in season Aberaeron Lobster and mackerel is a must!
The Hive has been the home of Hive Ice Cream for 40 years, now widely known for its unique honey flavour and quality, sold in a wide variety of flavours. In 2011 we won a Gold Star from ‘The Guild of Fine Foods’ for our Lemon Yoghurt and Blackcurrant Sorbet.
In 2011 The Hive won a Bronze award at ‘Wales The True Taste Awards’. We were honoured to receive such a well known award in our first year.
